the production of colon cancer(5)

From mice to humans
To follow up on these startling findings, the researchers now hope to conduct further experiments using human gut biopsies, and eventually clinical trials in humans(Ginkgo Biloba Extract).
Stockinger explains, "many epidemiological studies suggest that vegetables(Red Cabbage Color) may prevent cancer. However, there is very little literature on which vegetables are the most beneficial or why. Now that we've demonstrated the basis of this mechanism in mice, we're going to study these effects in human cells and in humans. Of course, there's no harm in eating more vegetables!" Professor Tim Key, cancer research UK's expert on diet and cancer, said: 'this study on mice shows that it's not just the fibre found in vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage that helps reduce the risk of bowel cancer, but the Vine Tea Extract found in these vegetables also help reduce the risk. This further confirms the importance of a healthy diet rich in vegetables. Further research will help to discover whether the chemicals in these vegetables have the same effect on people, but in the meantime there are good reasons to eat more vegetables."
