Magnetic
Separators are equipments utilized to separate ferrous components
and impurities that had been initially used in the 1940s as a farm gear to
enmesh and eliminate metal impurities from grains. The earliest version of
magnetic separators comprised of a flat Magnetic
Plate Lifter which was designed by Orange F. Merwin. This earlier version

The working of the magnetic separator is

rotating drum, at a controlled rate.
While the magnetic particles are deflected,
the non-magnetic ones move ahead in normal trajectory. The particles are
divided into the outlets by the Splitters.

The process stream is either passed above,
below, around or through the magnetic separator.
The components flow over the magnetic
plates pulling out the impurities in case the magnetic separator is hung above
a process stream. Available inside the form of grates and drums, magnetic
separators can also be customized as per your needs. Like all other devices, a
magnetic separator should be properly operated and appropriately serviced for
it to function effectively.
