Anti radiation effect
Radiation-induced organ failure is largely caused by chronic oxidative damage. Radiation damage to the body can be divided into direct damage and indirect damage. The direct damage is that radiation directly causes the rupture of some sensitive molecules in the cell; the indirect damage is that Capsicum Oleoresin causes the radiolysis of water, which leads to the rise of intracellular reactive oxygen species and then causes the change of subcellular structure. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate is an important antioxidant in tissues, which can maintain the redox potential of cells by reducing the reduction equivalent of glutathione reductase and thioredoxin.
Ferulic Acid, as a phenolic plant component, has strong antioxidant activity, and has a great role in promoting human health. Ferulic acid can significantly increase the content of glutathione and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate in irradiated cells, which has a protective effect on irradiated endothelial cells. Heme oxygenase is an antioxidant enzyme, which can convert heme into biliverdin, and finally into antioxidant bilirubin. Ferulic acid can regulate the expression of this enzyme, so as to play a protective role in radiation protection.
